President Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop in Tehran on Saturday.
To seriously fight and uproot terrorism and prevent recruitment of inexperienced youths by the terrorist groups, it is necessary to identify the root-cause of terrorism in a harmonized manner, he said.
Terrorism is now regarded as a big threat to the region and the humanity at large, Rouhani said, adding 'We should adopt a very coordinated strategy to urge all governments and nations to show timely reaction to terrorism and violence against innocent people irrespective of their ethnical, religious and racial backgrounds.
'To resolve these issues we should find political solutions and help resolve current catastrophic crisis in Yemen through negotiations,' said President Rouhani.
The crisis in Yemen should be resolved through political means and bombardment of innocent people will be of no use, he said.
The United Nations should send fact finding missions to assess the number of people falling victms to bombardments in Yemen, he said.
Unfortunately, there has been no tangible move by the international community to put an end to the current crisis in Yemen, said President Rouhani adding that presently shipment of foodstuff and pharmaceutics to Yemen is very difficult but Iran is ready to cooperrate with other countries to end bloodshed in Yemen.
From the early stages Iran has called on Western countries not to stop supporting terrorist groups in Syria but they still support them financially and militarily, he said.
President Rouhani also called for settlement of the problems facing war refugees and displaced people as a result of such conflicts and warned that if the problems of refugees are not be soilved they might join terrorist groups.
Referring to good relations between Iran and Australia, he expressed the hope that the current visit of the Australian foreign minister would lead to enhanced political, economic and cultural interactions between the two sides.
Expansion of mutual cultural, economic and tourism relations is of prime importance, said President Rouhani adding that Iran has always hosted millions of refugees and displaced people from neighboring countries.
On nuclear talks between Iran and G5+1, President Rouhani said Iran is determined to continue with its nuclear activities under supervision of IAEA and there is no doubt that the final deal will be to the benefit of Iran, G5+1, the entire region as well as the world.
The Australian foreign minister, for her part, praised the Iranian president's viewpoints on the fight against terrorism and eradication of extremism and said the Iranian president's views could be used in fighting terrorist groups and preventing their recruitement of inexperience young people.
Iran and Australia believe that the Iranian government needs international support in order to defeat terrorists, she said.
Expressing concern about promotion of Daesh's poisonous and destructive ideology which has triggered religious disputes in the region, she said there are differences in dealing with the issues in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.
Ties between Iran and Australia are deeply rooted, she said adding that Canberra believes that signing of a final deal by Iran and G5+1, would help remove sanctions and this will mark the beginning for new relations between, its neighboring states and other countries of the world.
