Ambassador: Vast grounds available for Iran-Australian cooperation

Kuala Lumpur, April 18, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Australia Abdolhossein Vahaji says there are vast grounds for Iran-Australia cooperation in tourism, trade, culture, nano technology, agriculture and research fileds as well as exchange of students.

Speaking to the ABC TV on Friday concurrent with the visit of Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop to Tehran aimed at expanding Tehran-Canberra cooperation, Vahaji commented on the comprehensive nuclear accord and its impact on economic relations with Iran.

Asked by the news network on the Zionist regime's discontent with the Iran-G5+1 nuclear agreement, Vahaji said, 'We held talks with the G5+1 states and the Zionist Regime's demands are far beyond Iran's commitments.'

The Iranian diplomat also commented on the impact of Daesh on the Middle East and said such groups as Daesh have influenced regional states and all should be careful about security issues.

On possibility of the Iran-Australia agreement on repatriation of Iranian refugees whose asylem requests have been turned down, Vahaji said the refugees left Iran legally and are entitled to live wherever they wish. 'The international and human rights should be respected and the refugees should be treated properly.'

He underlined respecting laws and said the point is we cannot force them to return to their homeland and any decision for their return rests with them. 'However, we welcome their return and prepare condition for their coming back home.'
