Zanganeh will meet Gabriel who is also Germany's vice chancellor, at the economic ministry later in the morning before attending the Energy
Security Summit 2015 where he will address the high-profile gathering in an question-and-answer format.
On Friday, Zanganeh will hold talks with Foreign Minister Steinmeier and host also a working breakfast with heads of German oil and gas
companies.
Zanganeh's two-day visit to Germany comes amid the latest signals by the Merkel government expressing interest in cooperating with
Iran in the energy sector once a comprehensive nuclear deal is finalized.
The contact is among the highest levels of bilateral engagement so far with a European government, suggesting western countries are now
willing to engage directly with Iran outside the framework of nuclear talks.
German companies in the energy as well as steel and pharmaceutical sectors are especially interested in doing business with Iran as they anticipate
the imminent lifting of sanctions against Tehran once a nuclear accord is sealed by the June 30 deadline.
