Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran Valiollah Afkhami Rad and Director General for policymaking of commerce, Trade and Industry of Japan Hirofumi Katase convened in Tehran.
The working group is to focus on simulation of implementable projects, studying expansion of cooperation between private sectors, infrastructure as well as policy making in commerce and industry.
Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran voiced readiness for expansion of cooperation in various fields such as refineries, petrochemical, oil and gas, transport, shipping, port facilities, sophisticated technology advancements in Nano and bio technologies, steel and Iron, minerals and tourism.
Iran expects to benefit from Japan's experiences in various issues mainly in industry and commerce, Afkhami said.
Referring to the successful experience of Japan in auto industry, he said Iranian car makers produce some one million cars inside the country but are not able to compete with world car makers, therefore cooperation with Japanese companies could be very outstanding.
Iran is ready to tune its standards with WTO to play active role in global market and Japan is to help Iran attain the goal at the earliest, Afkhami said.
After clinching the final deal between Iran and G5+1, many countries of the world dispatched their commercial and industrial delegations to Iran to say they are prepared to develop economic ties, he said.
There is no doubt that Iran prefers to work with countries with powerful economy such as Japan and Japanese products are among recognized brands in the world, he said.
Director General for policymaking of commerce, Trade and Industry of Japan Hirofumi Katase said for his part that Japan is willing to broaden commercial, industrial and economic cooperation with Iran and expressed the hope that after clinching the nuclear deal between Iran and G5+1, development in the sector will gain momentum.

Tehran, Aug 29, IRNA – Trade officials in Iran and Japan agreed on Saturday to form a specialized working group to help develop commercial, economic and industrial cooperation between the two countries.
