The Russian RIA News Agency quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova that “At the end of the week three-way talks are planned in Moscow between the foreign ministers of Russia, Syria and Iran.”
Tensions between Moscow and Washington escalated when a Syrian airfield was attacked by the US missiles under the pretext of the use of chemical weapons allegedly by Bashar Assad’s government against its own people, a claim strongly rejected by Damascus.
It was the first US direct assault on Syrian fortifications on Friday as a result of which some 59 missiles were fired on Shayrat air base in Homs Province in Syria.
The missile attack was conducted without the UN Security Council and the US Congress consent.
